How will the 1/4" to 3.5mm adapter affect the sound quality? Which version would you recommend if I were to use this with the AKG Q701?

StarksAdapters don't effect sound quality. The Q701 is terminated in a 3.5mm connection and comes with an adapter, so it doesn't really matter. If you have more headphones with 1/4'' jacks the desktop version might be more convenient, but if it's your only good headphone, the standard 3.5mm version will work just fine.

TylerJ.ChiltonThanks for the quick reply. I realize a lot of audiophile headphones only come in 1/4. So lets say I upgrade in the future, am I stuck if I get the 1/8" version? Do you include an adapter for the 1/8" model? I am just deciding which version to get now. Please help me decide. Thanks

StarksYour not stuck, you can always use an adapter. No, there are no adapters included, but nearly every headphone includes one.
