The attached pic is of the Bushi I picked up about six months ago; my first Mcusta. It was so wonderfully, surprisingly solid, much more so than the second model Mcusta I bought--the model offered in a drop that just recently ended, actually. It was a lovely, well-built knife to be sure, but the Bushi was just SO unexpectedly solid that I resolved to buy all the different colors any time I saw one at a good price. And $89+change is a good price, about $10 less than the best on Amazon.
So again Massdrop, you offer a knife that's right in my wheelhouse at the same time that I'm trying to gather funds to grab the Kizer/Cucchiara collaboration currently being offered, which again, is a knife perfectly tailored to my tastes--I collect Kizers and Cucchiara designs esp; managed to pick up the Mini Dorado w/ the rainbow skully, but now there's another one I want even more (whose name escapes me).
Then, of course, there is the newFerrum Forge/ WE/MD knife, the Buc. Chasing down the lowest possible price on an FF piece was what initially led me to Massdrop some months ago, so yeah--I'm absoultely going to have to buy that one. I love FF; been trying to find a dealer who will sell a Sceptor on layaway style credit so so could afford it.
And now this Mcusta. I just dont have enough $, you understand me? I still have a custom I'm trying to pay off; yesterday I bought a Pro-Tech at BladeHQ (naturally, I talked myself into the upgraded model and went over-budget), and BladeOps sent me an email on Friday asking if I'd like them to hold anything from the shipment of my favorite brand that will arrive next week. And of course I want them to: I love their "locals first" philosophy. And I love knives.
But you're stretching my budget to the breaking point. Couldnt you have some more drops I dont care about with knives by Benchmade or Spyderco or Kershaw or CKRT? I dont collect any of those, and flat out don't care for a couple of the brands. Or fixed blades--why not do nothing but fixed blades for a month or two? Or kitchen knives? Couldn't care less about those.
I'm happily retired, Massdrop, and I want to keep it that way. I walked out of my last office three yrs ago and swore I'd never go back. Maybe when the kids move out and I'm old and bored I'll learn a trade and do some artisanal manual labor-type job just for something to do in my golden yrs. But that plan ain't going to work if Im spending $1K+ / week on blades, and I just...cant...say...no to...COOL KNIVES. So quit tempting me!
