Seems pretty overpriced for what it is. It would be pretty easy to find this at a custom cable place for 10-20 cheaper. I just bought a very similar one at spaztik cables for 55. Why preorder? There's nothing unique or new about this. It's a standard cable.

I just received mine (4ft) direct from Mechcables today. Works fine with my First Gen Alt. So probably will work.

I don't know. I have the alt which is pretty similar. From what I know both those boards are really power hungry and some of the coiled cables can't deliver enough power because they are too long. Though this just means that the lighting is weak and I think that some mother boards allow you to tweak the power output of your USB ports. Regardless, I think the shorter the cable the less likely it will have an issue.
