I bought this cable on June 4th 2019 and got it delivered on September 4th 2019. It was great back then, everything worked fine and I was really happy with it. Couple weeks ago, some of my switches seem to not respond well on a custom build keeb. I thought it were just a couple bad switches and was planning on putting new ones in. A bit later, my cable started to act weird. I had to push the USB-C side downwards and keep my keyboard in a certain angle else the cable would power it up. I tried another keyboard and I had the same issue. Now, May 24th 2020, I gave up on that thing as it became unbearable to always have my keyboard sit on my desk in a certain angle and the smallest movement would make my keyboard useless.
Now why is it important that I talk about the switches not working? Well, surprisingly, now that I am using an entirely different cable (a gold plated usb-c cable that I got with a Ducky One 2 Mini) I haven't had any switch issues whatsoever. I paid 53 dollars (+ import costs as I live in EU) for a cable that survived for 9 months. Not worth it for me.
Unplugged it from my monitor's USB hub and the metal part of the USB-A port stayed in the monitor when the cable came out. Not sure if it's worth messing with because I have other less pretty cables I can just use instead.
At first I left a bad review because this cable didn't work. I then messed around a bit and found out that it was too long to power a Massdrop CTRL keyboard from a normal usb 3.0 port. Then I used a powered usb 3.0 hub from Plugable with this cable and the CTRL keyboard and it works just fine. 5/5
Was very excited to get my cable, it looks absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately upon plugging it into my keyboard, it wasn't working and I had to go back to my previous USB cable.
I've had no issues, and i really love this cable. I wish there was an option to not get the double sleeving so that the vibrant color of the cable was easier to see.
I've used this cable daily (carrying it with me on a commute). I've had zero issues with it.
It tested fine on delivery to USB specifications, and works perfectly with my Zeal60 PCB.
I've had no problems with the mini-USB connector end, as others have reported with their Micro-USB end. Mine is nice and secure, even with carrying it back and forth to work in a soft case.
The coiling has become a little looser over time, but this to be expected from any tension on a coiled, sleeved cable.
The colors match well with the Miami Dolch keycaps it pairs with.
