I own a pair of the original matrix after watching a Tyll review, they sounded mediocre but when I did the pad swap with Brainwav HM5 velours they sounded phenomenal. These are semi closed but the originals only had 8 hours of playback and they were 64 ohm so they didn't get that loud. If you mod them they hit an audiophile quality, without the mod, I wouldn't recommend them (these pads do look thicker though). $60 might be worth it
Listen to gasmaskdude and do not buy it. The quality of Mee Audio suck. Mine broke within three months of usage. It is very cheaply made. I would not recommend it to anyone.
flintrockI agree. Most of these Chinese headsets have questionable build quality; often times the plastic breaks, and in some cases the metals break too! This comes from the experience of buying several brands and models from AliExpress, the latest in the series being Ausdom's AH3 at US $18 (BT4.2 with Apt-X support and a bass switch) heavily discounted during their March sale. What's unfortunate is some of these products (not Mee necessarily) actually sound good (case in point: the AH3 was a steal at its price), but don't last.
I haven't used these but i did have a pair of in-ears from this brand(shure se 215 knockoffs) ..it was a total waste of 50$, sounded terrible and built just as bad. I went for the Shures and man was i blown away by the difference in audio quality.
Id recommend spending a bit more for a better product.
Anyone have hands-on experience with these over a period of 6 months or so? I'm wondering if they solved the problem the Matrix2's had where the plastic surrounding the sliders broke for many users.
Hi everyone, do these maintain the superbly flat, close to boring frequency curve from the matrix2, or do they go for a more mainstream sound signature? I hope they didn't change that, I would rather have great vocal presentation over thumping bass any day of the week. There are literally thousands of headphones that can deliver the latter.
