Well, I use p2 earphones witt fiio btr3 bluetooth adapter, so i bought a short fiio lc-3.5as cabble with mmcx for 15 usd. And then i bought ostry os100 silicon tips with acoustic filter to adjust highs. Now im totally satisfied with the sound and comfort i got. Perfect combo for btr3.
Got mine yesterday, initially impressed by sound. Struggling a bit with comfort but that's just my ears, IEMs have never worked well for me. Running of a Sony NW-A45 player, and a Teac HA-501/NT-503 (though intended use is portable). We'll see how long the cable lasts, let's just say that getting a replacement cable now seems like a good idea. Which is okay at this price point.
Sound? Warm, smooth but not boomy bass. Clear, clean midrange. Slightly elevated highs. I'll allow for some burn in before a final verdict, not sure if these will change over time.
For this price, easily five stars. If they were $200 I'd knock off a star for unimpressive cable.
UPDATE: After burn-in, slightly smoother highs perhaps. Comply tips seem to finally work for me, although I should try a larger size. Listening is quite pleasant off my Sony A45, lots of clarity and detail, seemingly low distortion. I really don't like the cable, get lots of movement noise as I move around, and I miss the around-ear cable arrangement of another IEM I tried. Thinking of getting a Bluetooth MMCX cable. Maybe.
I’m pleased with these IEMs, especially for the price. For $40 they’re hard to beat IMO. The P2 seems (to me anyway) to have a pretty V-shaped sound, but not like obnoxiously boosted bass. Just fun, you know? Very clear and maybe just a little bright with good separation. Easy to drive with just my phone, one of my goals for a daily commuter.
I absolutely hated the stock cable though, so you might want to figure that in. It takes MMCX connections though so finding a new cable was super easy. I ordered one from EBay.
zanthineI ordered these and they will arrive soon. Reading lots about people replacing the cable. What cable would you recommend? 3,5mm jack, no mic. Thanks in advance! (Europe, btw)
I got this to replace my lost Audio Technica IM50.
Personally I think that P2 is more comfortable than IM50. Sound quality is great, tested with songs from different genre on my Cowon Plenue D and they all perform really well on P2.
My only dislike is that I don't really like to have microphone on IEM but considering this deal is really good, it retails at S$145 compared to S$65 which I paid for this amazing IEM, there's really no room for complain.
tsukisaThere are scores of replacement cables out there. I found a braided silver cable with a lightning plug and no mic. It really speeds up response and makes these sound $100 better. It was $18 on AliExpress.
I bought these on black friday. Let me start by saying these would be a 3/5 if it weren't for the garbage tier cable it comes with. Almost unusable. Extremely heavy cable tries to rip them from my ears constantly. It's too stiff. I have had these for over a month and a half and it still has all the original kinks from the factory packaging in it. The mic sounds terrible and the single button on the mic has crap functions compared to any other respectable cable. It's also an awkward length. (Rant over)
mids and highs are decent. But bass is weak. I haven't found the right source to drive them maybe? But to be honest I was expecting a phone to be plenty adequate, these aren’t audiophile quality. But still, they sound pretty good for the price. They are 2.5-3 stars depending on what music type you are going for. Overall? $42 would be fair for these but with the addition of a new cable, these are now $55+ and I just don’t think they sound that great. These are advertised as $100 headphones, you can also get a pair of Shure 215 for $100. And there’s no comparison, the Shure blasts em.
but hey if you can get them for $25 as a knockaround pair? Go for it, but the cable sucks. You’ve been warned
4/10 (Meh)
Paid 25 dollars, 5 stars even if you need to get another cable.
I'm using a Sony walkman nw45 and replaced the mmcx cable, the sound is warm but perfect with good detail with any music. For 25 dollars you can't go wrong even if you need to buy a new cable. I love this and my tin t4, one is perfect warm and the other perfect bright.
I'm about to start day 2 with these, so no burn in to speak of yet. What I have experienced is truly a work of art: for a single driver I would not have anticipated the depth these beauties present. To be clear, these are my first official IEM eat buds.. my previous best sound came from a set of brainwavz I got through Drop, and it seems I keep trading up. Without any external DAC, listening from either my Dell laptop or my Razor phone 2, the sound separation is truly beyond anything I've experienced. At on point, I had pulled my right bud out so that I could drive, but still experienced what can only be described as a virtual stereo effect through the left earpiece. I'm sorry if this review is more of a rant, but it's a new experience for me and I couldn't be more pleased. I got these at severely discounted price, but would replace them at full retail with no buyers remorse. That is unless I stop out of my comfort zone and trade up to multi driver items next time..
