If they really don't tell you until you open up the package, if you check the tracking often you can see the total shipment weight, which could at least tell whether or not you got one of the heavier items (like the sennheisers) :-)

They'll have to pay way more for the shipping of a few thousand packages? Not to mention that they said that if you win you'll have the option to back out and get a mee iem instead. At the very least they should notify the people who won the prizes worth more than 200 bucks, so they are prepared for possible taxes as not everyone may be able to pay that on short notice if at all as in some countries the sennheiser will cost you like 500 bucks to release from customs.

It will. It always depends on luck, weight of the package and the declared price. If they mark is as gift and declare a price that is below the taxable the package can slip through if not too heavy but on some occasions this doesn't help and the customs seize the package anyway.
