No one says this can't be a win-win ;) I help them understand the legal ramifications, they allow us an alternate entry so everyone wins. You guys are like being the bad friends here who egg on massdrop and when the California attorney general files a lawsuit and fines them because gambling like this is strictly forbidden in their state according to the second link, none of you guys are gonna take the hit. It's easy to be high and mighty online when you got no fear of fines or legal issues.

Sigh.
Massdrop isn't three dudes in a garage, champ: "Massdrop just raised $40 million in a Series B round of financing led by August Capital. The new round brings Massdrop’s total funds raised to about $48 million, which includes top investors, Mayfield, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, First Round Capital and Cowboy Ventures." - https://boards.greenhouse.io/massdrop
They are California based, and at that level of financial raisings, I think it's a safe surmise that they have a legal department. I can further extrapolate that their California based legal department is in a good position to advise them on California law.
So, you know, thanks for your advice, but they're probably cool.
