Why does the details say Kailh Hotswappable sockets and soldered? Is the details just out of date?

lolipoppingYes, it's a mistake. Originally when the drop launched, it was to be soldered. A few days later, it was announced that the product product had been changed to have Kailh hotswap sockets instead. RGB LEDs were also added, and Bluetooth changed from 4.0 to 5.0. It looks like when they updated the details, Drop didn't do a thorough job.

MountainPassthis whole thing has been quite confusing to be honest. i wasnt totally happy i wasnt the newest bluetooth but it was a nice surprise to get it. though im reading that that we are getting kailh and not gateron switches ? i have no experience with neither, so wont complain anyway

shark65This keyboard will come with Kailh hotswap sockets (the small black component below). They are soldered to the PCB.

(Image from http://m.kailhswitch.com/mechanical-keyboard-switches/box-switches/hot-swapping-pcb-socket.html) The Gateron switches then mate with the sockets and clip into the plate when they are inserted into the assembly.

MountainPassNICE so can I use any switch on this or does it have to be a special gateron? I will probably keep the yellows that come with it but just in case. edit: looks like any switch sans stabilizer legs.

smallbitYou can use any plate mount switches (3 pins). Or you can use PCB mount switches but you'll have to manually cut off two plastic legs from each switch. But you can get any color Cherry, Gateron, and kaihl switch in plate mount so you're good to go. This keeb has the same Hotswap kaihl mounts as like the Massdrop ALT and CNTRL keyboards

smallbitAny switches...this is just like the Massdrop ALT or CNTRL except it has Bluetooth 5.0, is 60%, and comes with your selected color or Gateron switch (but will support any Gat, cherry, Kailh switch.)

smallbitI already got some holy pandas that I made. How are those zeals? I've been hearing so many good things about them. What can you compare them to as far as feel, sound, etc? Are they clicky or more silent tactile?
