Hi Everyone, The issues/delays with the Melgeek runs has been escalated to me and I'm now working on it. I've started to dig into the issues and I'll have substantive updates to post over the weekend. Apologies for all this back and forth, and really appreciate your patience on this.

KevinSo if Melgeek is taking the canceled orders and then reselling up (at a higher cost) on their website, wouldn't it make sense to cancel everyone's order, give them a $50 credit (on Drop or Melgeek) and give everyone who participated in the groupbuy right of first refusal? Seems better than this bullsh*t, ethics of Drop and Muni being clowns aside.

KevinHi Kevin. You're probably aware of the FTC Mail Order compliance standards, but just so we're all on the same page: Enforcement The FTC can extract large civil penalties for violations of the Mail Order Rule: up to $43,280 per violation plus consumer redress. For example, in FTC v. DiscountMetalBrokers, Inc., a court ordered DiscountMetalBrokers to pay over $6 million for violations of the FTC Act and the Mail Order Rule. The FTC has also levied fines of over $800,000 in settlements related to alleged Mail Order Rule violations. * * * The Mail Order Rule imposes very specific requirements that companies should navigate carefully, COVID-19 or not. As companies face shipping and distribution disruptions, appropriate notice to customers as delays become known will avoid Mail Order Rule violations and enforcement. - We need this resolved properly, legally, and equitably. Please sort this out.

KevinThank you for the update, I do sincerely appreciate a simple and to the point comment like yours explaining the status, that it was escalated to you, and that you're working to resolve it...and the best part you have been the only person to give a time as to when you'd have more updates (this weekend). Hope to hear back from you soon.

KevinHi Kevin, looking forward to your updates. I think the answers that most of us looking for are:
  1. When can we actually get the keyboards?
  2. Can we trust you in future GBs?
I do not represent all the buyers, but I think after all these delays, hiccup, poor communications etc, any new reasons now will just seems like BS to us, some/most/all of us only concern on when can we get our hands on the keyboard, nothing is better than a solid shipping notification. I urge that drop do really provide updates ASAP, if too many buyers cancel their order AFTER the keyboard shipped out from Melgeek, drop might need another GB to sell off those cancelled order. also, I am not sure why it's so complicated to just arrange shipment from Melgeek to drop, are you having some dispute over shipping cost with Melgeek? (This is just a guess, else I do not know what could be the obstacle for shipping arrangement) Edit: Received official updates email from Drop, clearly layout the problem and difficulty and new expected date. Appreciate the update, and keep it up. Thank you Drop.

QuanlohEdit: just realized you did get the email, so disregard my reply. I missed seeing the bottom of your message. But I figured I'd leave this up for people who are looking for an update (but I did a very rough summary of the email. It was much more informative than what I wrote). I'm just glad I don't feel so crazy anymore for feeling like Melgeek was shady as shit. I don't know if you saw their email they sent out (very well written and informative) but basically since Melgeek wasn't done with the keyboards until much later than expected then the original carrier pick up had to be canceled and now if you want to reschedule or make a new pickup it will cost Drop $50 per keyboard just to ship them so Melgeek basically fucked them on numerous occasions, but they are currently getting a cargo ship to bring the keyboards, the keycaps, and whatever other melgeek group buy there was that people are waiting on (about 6 weeks or sometime in January 2021 before they will arrive.) They apologized, even though this was 100% Melgeeks fault as they even said we were getting more updates (or should I say lies) from them (discord, email, etc) than Drop got from them at all. So they are giving everyone $15 drop credit on their account and you're welcome to cancel your order or keep it. But everyone will be receiving the $15 credit whether you have canceled your order or not. Then they will probably have to put the remaining keyboards up for sale that were left over from all the people that canceled and then they will never sell another Melgeek product ever again as Melgeek has been a nightmare with no communication and just blatant lies.
