I have a question on the shipping to Canada cost. For other drops with 15 fat quarters shipping is $4.31. Since this is 45 fat quarters I would have expected the shipping to be 3 times the amount of the others...bringing it to $12.93. The shipping is double that at $25.04. I am assuming it isn't going by weight? Thanks
SKingHi @SKing,
It's confusing, but it's the way shipping discounts work. For this drop, we ship in the USA for free. In order to do that, we apply a discount which will give "free shipping" to US customers.
Unlike other companies, we want to pass on that "discount" to international members as well. The same discount which allows US customers free shipping is applied to international orders.
International shipping prices scale very differently than domestic shipping prices. Shipping this much fabric domestically is less than double the cost while it costs 3 times more to ship to Canada. When you take the larger international shipping costa and discount the domestic cost which scales slower, you get a discount but not at the scale you were expecting.
I hope that helps explain how our international shipping costs are figured out. We're working on implementing different shipping/discount systems that are more robust to apply US discounts to International orders in more "logical" ways.
