Andrew_NYbecause this tool is no sharper than a butter knife, and won't cause one to go to the ER to get stitches should the knife slip into your palm. some people don't have the knife skills... but i wouldn't call them stupid, just a little clumsy.
I open avos all the time with a knife so I can't really justify this purchase.
Sounds like you're pretty disgruntled regarding avocado opening. Avocadoes are a wonderful fruit. Be happy, man.

Andrew_NYI lost a finger cutting a one open. Avocados are making sharp knives deadly again. Sharp knives are sharp man. The green handle on this opener means that this sharp cutter is a safe sharp.
