I have both this cube and a couple of traditional microplane graters. My main intent was to use it to grate and catch parmigianno regiano, but find I waste a lot of cheese that grates (almost curls) off the outside edges of the box and ends up on the counter. So for me, I find it better in theory than in practice, and go back to my other microplanes or other graters. YMMV.

FavogYep, that raised lip is a real pain. It would have been better to raise just the corners (blade plates must be inset to clearance within cube) to keep the sides open.

Microplane makes awesome graters. Unfortunately this is not one of them. Hard to clean. Really small. The blade area is too tiny so you cant get any good momentum to actually grate anything in a timely manner.
I own one and I do not recommend it.

The cube seems too small for me, I was trying to cancel my order, but something is broken, it does not work. So dear customer support, please help. Regards, -Victor

Hard to clean and not any better than a standard Grater, what's the point?

This looks neat. For owners, any rust issues?

The question comes back all time with things like this for cheese: is it easy to wash? I have to use a toothbrush to clean all the ones I have right now (not "Microplane Cube Grater", but the ones you find in supermarket). I'm not looking for something trendy, but for something that is more useful than the classical ones.

Never seen this before, but like the idea for the more delicate grating recipes. I agree with you @Blaze9131 that sometimes shipping kills deals. I haven't been on here for a minute, but I'm back and like the huge community talking about the deals on here before and after the drop.

Does this do a good job on lemon zest? It's not shown in the video.

What would you say gives you the most trouble? Hard cheeses?

metalligatorI'm not him obviously but my biggest issue with it is how small it is. Really hard to get any good control for grating. So its very difficult and more time consuming to grate with vs a traditional grater.
