Beautiful knife, however as I already have a Spyderco Street Beat which is functionally identical, I'll pass on this one. Definitely seems like a nice score for those folks snapping one up, though.

KnifeGuyFunctionally -- well, they're both fixed knives. The excellent Street Beat has blade that's nearly 3.5-inches long, compared to the 2.75-inch Slimline. I'm eager to see the Slimline -- Millit does good work.

hatmanWell, I meant my statement as more of a comment on the overall function of both knives. Both the SB and the Slimline feature blades suited to both stabbing and slashing, with a deep index finger choil for knife retention. Blade length notwithstanding, I think they could be considered to serve the same function. I think this Slimline would be amazing if you didn't already have one of the Spydercos. Can't beat the quality from Hawk & Hawk that's for sure.

hatmanHah, I dropped in to mention the similarity. I have the previous Street Bowie which is bigger still (4.5"?) and it is a beautifully balanced knife. This looks like a nice knife for a decent price. BTW, CPM 154 is not 154CM (which is an ATS34 equivalent) traditional steel. CPM154 is a powered metal process with more toughness and better workability and it is waay more expensive than 154CM/ATS34.

enkiduGood point! The PM process moves that steel up a notch in quality and toughness.
