This is totally a knock-off of Thermos' 16-oz food container: "Thermos Stainless King 16 Ounce Food Jar with Folding Spoon, Stainless Steel" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DZQT01U/ ... which is currently just under $20 in brushed stainless. The knockoffs on Amazon are even less expensive. Seriously, Massdrop?

A "compartment" in the stopper is actually a heat leak. You want dead-air space (or, ideally, vacuum, but good luck with that) to insulate the top of the container when using it for hot foods. I'd bet this food jar doesn't keep foods hot as long as one without a compartment. Oh, and ... don't put anything in the compartment that you wouldn't want to get warm. The knock-off products on Amazon have the same exterior design as this jar, but for even less than the Thermos brand: MIRA Lunch, Food Jar | Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Lunch Thermos with Portable Folding Spoon | 17 oz (500 ml) | Hawaiian Blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NBVPQZX/ is under $16 at the moment. MIRA also makes knock-offs of the Hydro-Flask food jar for similar prices. And my main point is not about the exterior, but the fact that this is clearly a copycat of Thermos' original design, for *more* than the original Thermos. My expectation of Massdrop would be more like, "Here's a Stanley Classic Vacuum Food Jar 17oz Hammertone Green https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000G00WTI/ for 50% off of retail ($17.50) in exchange for waiting 30 days for it". You buy what you want, but this certainly doesn't seem like "premium product for lower prices" ... more like the reverse.
