HypocaffeinicI did the same. As much as I'd like to try out the QC' s being able to use other keycaps is a bigger pro for me.

HypocaffeinicWhy? This layout is so unorthodox that you're probably not going to find a set of aftermarket caps that looks good anyway, so you'll stick with LightCycle.
Also, you can put LEDs in Matias technically. You just have to put them on the underside of the PCB and shine them through the switch housing (which is clear on Matias, so the whole switch lights up). That's how I did a Matias Planck with backlit keys once.

shadowdude777SP can do them. @evangs just has to talk with the designer of the sets and see if they can put the keys you need in the Ortho kits. Just like he did with the The Amazing Chocolatier SA.

krhannon7333Any existing kits you own won't work though, and unless Evan gets every single new kit out there to add these keys to the ortho kit, it won't work. I personally will just stick with LightCycle.

shadowdude777For example, the pulse kit on mine is pulse base, ergodox, Planck and Whitefox keys all to get it to work on mine. Oh and a novelty cap

zndrWhere are you gonna put the LightCycle kit if you swap it out then? I guess you could do that, it just seems like a pretty big waste to me, and I'm not sure why people wouldn't jump on the opportunity to not only have this board with some of the best switches around (Matias QCs), but with one of the few beautiful keycap sets that I've seen that actually has Matias stems!

shadowdude777I already switched back to Matias a couple minutes after posting that yesterday because I realised that they could be put elsewhere in the case instead! Too good an opportunity to finally get some Quiet Clicks on a small board to miss. Great to hear you've done it too, thank you. :)

shadowdude777Mine came with an even less robust set, it sit's in a ziplock bag in a cubit storage system bought at target with all the other keysets I have laying around....First world problems I know
