Update from Massdrop below. What a bunch of amateurs:
Wanted to email you personally to give an update on what happened and what’s happening next.
There was some initial production delays that pushed fulfillment into batches. This wouldn’t have been a problem on it’s own, but freight traffic slows down monumentally around the holidays. In order to avoid the delay we had our manufacturer expedite the shipment with express air shipping. However, due to a labeling error the package was routed to our office while I was out of town instead of to the warehouse and unfortunately sat on my desk until I got back in.
I really apologize for the delay and confusion caused by this, but once the problem was found we had them immediately shipped to our warehouse. They should have them turned around and on their way to you by next week.

RambonoboIt wasn't what I was hoping to hear (I got the same email), but at least it was honest and gave a specific date with a reason. It also explained why some people were delayed, and others weren't. Yanbo also was giving this update when it wasn't really on him to do so (I presume it wasn't actually his desk, probably a co workers, even though he mentioned that it was).
RandomPerson52I think that's a very optimistic view, and certainly quite considerate of you. However, I don't have to share it, and I think we should expect more than honesty from Massdrop. I would expect some competence. Just because this is the first time this keyboard is being made doesn't mean that we should expect amateurish business practices.
RambonoboPeople make mistakes, and I really appreciate Yanbo owning up to that. I feel much better knowing exactly what happened, then getting the canned responses we had in the past. It is frustrating to have something delayed, but I much rather be informed that a mistake was made then informed "Shipping date slipped again, sorry guys".
