Inspired by Nordic design, Kickstarter-funded Miró specializes in crafting lightweight watches with a clean, simplistic aesthetic. And the Everyday 40 is exactly that Read More
I've been wearing the deep blue on chocolate leather for about a month. The overall design is clean but striking. It can be a dress watch or worn casually, looks good either way.
I'm not sure if the dial is printed, but it looks great and doesn't appear flat thanks to the textured design and the protruding hours markers. The hands and markers are lumed and the red second hand is a nice contrasting accent.
The sapphire crystal has taken a few dings without scratches (as expected), but the polished rim of the case around the glass has already accumulated a few swirls and scuffs. The leather strap is soft and comfortable, but also scratches easily, which actually gives it a nice "character" and vintage appeal.
My only gripe is the Miyota 2036 quartz movement, which is acceptably accurate and reliable, but is on the lower end of Miyota's line. Overall, domed sapphire crystal, 316L stainless steel case and lumed hands are a nice package for a $110 watch.
If MD offers a drop on the automatic, I would definitely trade up.
Just got the watch today, thrilled with it! Didn't expect quite as long a wait as I got, butbit was a pretty substantial saving, so would say it was worth it.
WhichwaydidheGoEmailed Massdrop, said they were having delays, not sure whether it's on their end or Miro's. Stated they would alert me if it would be more than 30 days.
Can someone that has this watch let us know if the right lugs are not straight? How's the machining on the lugs? From all the photos it appears that they bow out and not symmetrical with the left ones.
I'm wondering if this might be the cause of the slack mentioned by @Bsenn in one of the comments below.
DoriroDI got the leather strap and it is missing 1-2mm of width to be a a snug fit, hence it has a bit of wiggle movement. Not sure on the lugs themselves, I haven't removed the strap.
the quartz on their site is much more expensive than here, about 50% more. The pricing proportion on the Miro site as far as quartz vs automatic is a little wonky - expensive quartz and (relatively) cheap automatics. I dont recall seeing a miyota 9015 powered watch here on MD for less than $200 before. Thus waiting for the auto to come to MD vs buying it on their site has less value than getting the quartz on MD vs their site.
FarragoVery true about sizes. I'm assuming the material used is different as well. The Citizen's lume is visible for a good 5-10 minutes (longer if there's even a dim light source in the dark), while the Miro will usually disappear within 15-30 seconds. The lume is not that noticeable or useful for me personally.
That said, the Miro wins with its lightweight and elegant design, not to mention how well the domed sapphire face has held up scratch-free despite a lot of accidental bangs on metal objects. I would love to get an automatic version and I'm hoping Massdrop will make it happen. :)
Just got mine in, and it looks amazing. The pictures really can't do justice to how the texturing of the dial and indices really combine with the unique magnification effect of the sapphire crystal to give it a real 3D appearance. I would LOVE if MD brought in the automatic version of this so I can get one in a different color and band.
