Product Description
Sporting an unconventional yet highly ergonomic design, the split Mistel MD770 mechanical keyboard was created to improve posture and reduce discomfort. Split down the middle, the MD770 allows you to place each half wherever you want: leave them together for a more traditional look, or spread them out to take some pressure off of your wrists and elbows Read More
Yes, these are Eu dates :) it was a very speedy delivery, 7 days. The longest wait was from the moment the keyboard became available until it was shipped. The keyboard was shipped with a delay of ~1 month from the initial advertised date :( Nevertheless, it arrived here safe and it's the best keyboard I have ever typed on :D
Oh, I love it! Shame about the pre-soldered cherries though - don't have the means to get those pulled out and replaced right now, especially with that tangerine drop coming in sometime next month.
Hi Vonsoo - I am a complete newb to making a cutsom keyboard, but am up for learning to do so - wondering if you have a website in mind for the the hot swappable split keyboards?
logandadgadYMDK split appeared here few times and is available online for a little premium. Just search here and check comments what people think. It's not perfect, but way better than non-ergo board. Wheat Field if you need more keys, but not sure where to buy it.
I've ordered EZ Ergodox, not sure if I'll get used to ortho layout. Bloody expensive as you have to buy it with LEDs, keycaps and switches.
Zen, Iris, Dactyl look amazing but I think these are bigger projects, no idea if someone sells them with presoldered hot-swap sockets.
RayFI've never seen it offered with just one side, but if you're looking for a half of a keyboard I would suggest looking at Keeb.io or rgbkb , both have lots of options and offer building service for their PCB's as well.
I’ve always wanted a split keyboard. However, after trying one I realized that I’ll never be able to own one because they are not made for left thumb space bar users.
The issue is the placement of the left space bar. I hit the space bar with my left thumb between the B key and the N key. It needs to extend (or be moved) over further to be usable. The problem is that most if not all split keyboards cut the left space bar short in favor of a longer right space bar. I tried the MD770 a while back and kept hitting the desk next to the B key.
some of the Alice clones have an option for a left space bar that extends past the B key, but I haven’t been able to get ahold of one. Those aren’t fully split though.
OpenStorageI feel you. My hands are smaller so key at the same height as B is fine. I don't get why are they designing boards which can be set to resemble normal keyboard. Split should be split - 3 keys for every thumb plus some keys in the middle if someone wants to use pointer instead of pinky.
Is this QMK compatible? Or programmable via some other method?
Edit: Manufacturer's Site below. Firmware update (?) via exe, not sure if programmable. User Manual is in the owner's GDrive Trash folder, so is not viewable. Still, the site has a little more information including a few feature highlights.

NigelBlanIf it works at all like the MD660, then reprogramming is done on the board itself through key sequences. It's pretty awkward, and not at all as nice as something like QMK (or even Bootmapper)
I'm really tempted on this. But can we get some information on what "fully programmable" means? There's DIP switches on the bottom (which some sellers attempt to pass off as "programmable" or "configurable") and the manufacturer's site doesn't have a valid link to the manual https://www.mistelkeyboard.com/user-manual/
