Product Description
AUS-8 stainless steel is traditionally used in folding knives, but it makes a strong play in the Mizu chef’s knife. Featuring an 8-inch blade that can just as easily slice through a side of beef as it can mince garlic and chop onions, this all-purpose edge is ready for any meal Read More

This seems a very decent price for the AUS-8 version, but the VG-10 version is a dollar less direct from the manufacturer and ships faster. No incentive to buy the VG-10 knife here unless there’s some kind of Drop exclusive that I’m missing.

@MizuKnives is the VG-10 version full tang? It kind of looks as though it is from pics, but still hard to tell with only 3 pics of the VG-10 knife
(Edited)
bfitzThank you for joining the drop! The VG10 is full tang.

Just received mine today. I got the VG-10 Damascus option. Is there supposed to be a soft microfiber towel included with it? Mine didn't come with one and there were some scratches on the rivets. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with the product so far. @MizuKnives
ZeronisHi Zeronis,
Thanks for purchasing our VG-10 Knife. For the VG-10 knife it does not include a microfiber towel as that is only boxed with our AUS-8 knife. We are sorry to hear about the scratches on your rivet. Can you send us an email at hello@mizuknives.com? We'll do our best to get this taken care of.

You already get this for $40 on Amazon with free shipping. We're not saving much here. Ok. Just checked the checkout price for both (amazon and here). Both do not add tax, both have free shipping options. The difference really, is we're paying $3.01 for faster delivery for Amazon's offering, which is a no brainer when delivery rates for faster services have been sky rocketing. *upon even further research* Mizu knives was a successful kickstarter campaign, with what I can see to have a connection of good comments from their backers, hence why Amazon reviews are lacking, and potentially why the pricing may be lower (less money spent on advertisement etc.). From all the credible sources, I would still like to see better photographs of this knife. A macro shot of the tang, handle, and stamped logo can show a lot of detail on it's quality of manufacture.

Strange. I was searching with my phone at first, now that I've checked with my PC, the price is indeed $65.

TibblewinklesSince the ending of the drop, the price on amazon dropped from $65 (this time I cross referenced with a computer next to me) to $45. With the lack of reviews, this big gap of a price drop from it's original price, and also the fact that you can currently get forged Mercer kitchen knives for less than $45 on amazon. I find it difficult to justify this drop.

Any reviews on this? Seems way cheap, not full tang. What's with the "fake" rivet on the end of grip? Notice most pics of this knife try to hide the back of the grip. To hide the tang I presume. Says high carbon, but AUS8 is stainless, so high carbon stainless. At first I thought this was a plain carbon steel (which I prefer).
Krustyboomer You can find some reviews on Amazon. Not sure if links are permitted so go ahead and search for Mizu Knives.
AUS8 may not contain as much carbon as plain carbon blade, but it does boast 0.75% carbon content.
The pictures are not hiding anything, this knife incorporates a half tang design and does not go through the full handle. The rivet at the end is there for aesthetic purposes and to help with balancing the weight.
There are no gimmicks in why the price is so cheap. Instead, you should be asking why are all the other knives so expensive!
We hope you enjoy our product and please let us know if there are any issues or questions!
