I normally disassociate myself with slip-joint style knives...simply because I believe a lock blade offers more utility and safety. However, I was quite surprised after receiving the knife. It has a very strong spring to stabilize the blade of the knife. This along with the M390 blade material gave me more confidence in the knife. ...very nicely made knife for a great value.
My first M390 blade and now my favorite EDC. Came razor sharp and stayed that way thru a week of Cajun holiday meal prep and other not so light tasks. A few licks on the leather stroop and razer sharp again. Good action and small enough to forget you have it in your pocket. Don't miss a pocket clip at all. Highly recommended
Materials, fit and finish are top notch especially for the price. Blade centering and grind are perfect. Wood scales feel nice in hand. None of the QC issues others have described. Action is stiffer than the average slip joint but otherwise smooth.
This is a beautiful piece of work with nicely finished scales. In my opinion the back spacer could have extended the full length of the handle and adding a deep carry clip would guarantee a spot in my EDC.
Ok, the grind is a little uneven, I'm not crazy about the asymmetrical fuller, I wish the scales covered the liners entirely and out of the box the pull is a little strong. I can definitely understand that folks that paid full price would be a little upset.
Now, if you're still interested, the blade pops hair with just a light strop, the fit and finish overall is very nice and the ergos are amazing. I took it apart to polish the mechanism, lubed it with KPL (the stock lube has an unpleasant smell) and anoed the pivot collars (yes they're real titanium!) Now I'm in love with that thing, knocked the Benchmade Proper out of my collection.
This seems to be a nice knife. The scales are nice, the knife fits well in my hand, and the action (for a slipjoint) was above average. My blade was not centered - not enough to rub the frame, but definitely noticeable. However, for this combo of ebony scales and M390, my knife was well worth the price paid.
