View Full Discussion So would these work with the custom 68 key keyboard https://68keys.io ? I saw some stuff below about snipping contacts to make them plate mount, but I have absolutely no experience in this hobby.
I am afraid the PCB-mounted switches do not fit into the PCB. But if you want to cut off the two additional plastic thingies for every switch, it might work. The cases look the same, so they might snap into the plate without problems.
Thanks for the reply. From what I have looked up it seems like it would work. I asked because, asI said I have no experience in this and dont want to make some huge, easily avoidable mistake like buying $60 of the wrong switches.
Yeah, it'll work. You can see the difference in the two pics, the little plastic parts that come out the bottom. That's the only difference, and their only functionality is more stability for the switch when used with a plateless pcb. Cutting them off doesnt affect the switch at all as it's just a bit of plastic.
Should work, I snip those plastic nibs off anyway. They make it a pain in the ass to remove the switch later if they fit really tight.
