a Box of lottery tickets should be weighed against not the Possible payout, but the realistic, expected value of cracking a box. Thanks to Statistics, we can calculate the EV of a box of Modern Masters or any other set. http://www.mtgstocks.com/sets/220/expectedvalue MTGStocks puts the EV of a box of MM at $414.78. You can realistically expect to spend $358.24 on this Drop, and crack open $414.78 of value in magical cardstock. $56.54 of theoretical profit is definitely worth the fun of cracking open booster packs that typically sell for $18 - $20 each, IF you can find them.

Dr4c0I just bought a box of MM13 off of eBay last week for 375$ and opened it yesterday. The 3 mythics were the 3 cheapest dragons and I opened chalice, engineered explosives, and pact of negation. 1 path and 1 eternal witness for uncommons of value. Super shitty box. I bought it because of the best EV of older sets. But unfortunately randomness was certainly not in my favor this time.

ShadowhealsMan, that sucks, this set has the best potential payout of the masters series so far but I have been dissapointed many times. As well.
