I don't play Magic anymore, but I love the thrill of opening boosters. Would this be a good set to buy, open, and try to flip to make my money back?
jfcooperIt's a crap shoot. Some Modern Masters boxes you'll open and find $2000 in value. Some will end up with like $75.

jfcooper$2k seems a bit on the high side...however Ramseys logic is sound. I would advise against it coop...the OG modern masters was much more viable in terms of finance. Plus the new MM packaging is different...tearing a cardboard strip just isn't the same as cracking open a pack! That being said , I still may pick one up :)

jfcooperNo. Every box you open is a total gamble. This set just has more expensive cards so It is a bigger gamble. If the EV (expected value) of a box was ever more than its price, then it would sell out immediately.
That being said, you definitely can make money by buying booster boxes, sitting on them, and selling them (unopened) years later.

MichaelBaconhearstRamseyValue if you plan to sell and you find someone wanting to pay top dollar. I never sell cards.
