Moleskins look nice on the outside and the pages are set up well, the pocket is nice and the cover too. BUT, the paper is not at all fountain pen friendly or even rollerball friendly. There is a lot of feathering and terrible bleed through when using anything but an extra fine nib. And even then there is ghosting on the obverse.
If only they would make a line of pads with a better paper.
If you don't mind having dramatically fewer pages (and no guidelines), the Sketchbook series has a very thick page you'll never bleed through. I used these as journals for a few limited duration trips to great effect.
However, if you just use one side of the page in the normal thinner thickness books it never bleeds through. This actually gives you more effective pages than the Sketchbooks, and you can have lined/squared pages. Depends on what you want.
