Why did they have to wire this box from what appears to be the top right corner? This is one of those face palm moments for me. I already know that I want this, but if I got it that cable coming off in view would drive me batty.

I have to second this. It ruins what would be an excellent looking case otherwise. I saw someone mention that it may be able to be relocated. Let’s hope we get an answer on here.

And a 2nd Q - does the stand shown come with the display case, or is that a separate purchase, and if it comes with, is it removable? I might be able to use it either way, but it's important for planning how I'd use it.

This appears to me to be the Keebmonkey stand that is still for sale here on Drop. https://drop.com/buy/keebmonkey-acrylic-and-steel-keyboard-display-stand?defaultSelectionIds=965846 It is not listed in the detailed overview of this product, so sadly I have to believe they probably don't include one with this enclosure.

The pictures are contradictory - one shows the left side as a solid aluminum panel, the others as a lucite/plexiglass panel. Which is it going to be?

I believe what you are seeing is a reflection. The enclosure is clear on the front, left, right and top. The aluminum reflective panel goes in the enclosure behind your keyboard to basically provide visual interest.
