Been wearing mine for a week now and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised by how nice it is for 99$. After reading all the criticism on finish and quality, I have to disagree and say that fit and finish of the clock is better than some of my seikos or orients.
I'm into automatics, but so far it keeps time great, no hassle - no complaints!
The date wheel is fantastically responsive and better than watches in even the 500$ range that I have.
Glad I jumped on it even with the criticisms; I went in with low expectations only to be surprised by a cute watch at a cheap price.
My own complaint is the leather band seems to be soft/ prone to wear; it also will get dirty easily. I'll be swapping in a nato strap.

Received my watch earlier this week. Loved it. Something really interesting I noticed though.
If your watch is tilted downwards, or just flat on any surface, there is a chance that the second hand will go UNDER the minute hand, thus stopping the movement. It happened twice - first time was accidental while second time was intentional on my part to confirm the phenomenon. Basically, the red circle on the second hand has weight, which causes it to dip downwards a tiny bit.
Really only a problem when you take off your watch and leave it on night table or something. I generally "hang" my watches. I advise you all to do the same if ever you encounter this.
It's an odd design quirk, but at the same time... it's pretty neat.

I received my Mondaine yesterday, and I was very pleased with the watch. The presentation was nicely packaged with an insert explaining the history. The watch is a little on the lighter side, seeming you are used to heavier metal banded chronograph watches, but for its weight it still feels well built and made. My battery did come in working order with the correct time and date set. The band is comfortable, no complaints, though I may have a custom leather band made after wearing it a few times. Maybe something a little darker. Overall great timepiece, nothing I would go camping with, but it does look good with a suit! Cheers.

RE: dead batteries. Just opened mine to find that the battery is indeed dead. Pretty disappointing as this is the first Drop I've participated in to have a defective product arrive. Otherwise the watch looks nice. I wasn't expecting fantastic build quality for the price paid; however it does deliver on style.
