Hey why does the date on my watch go up to 40 before reseting to 1 again.

IkarosIt's one of the quirks of the big date complication. Instead of the typical singular date wheel, this watch has two date wheels that move independent of each other. It's similar in concept to this Lange:
Essentially, you will need to reset the date at the end of every month. This is not too different from a singular date wheel, which needs to be set at the end of every other month.
