The Helvetica No1 New York Edition by Mondaine features the company’s trademark minimalist aesthetic, which gets a boost from the cult-favorite Helvetica font. Inspired by the dramatic, vibrant colors of the New York Subway, the watch pairs a black IP-coated stainless steel case with a two-toned strap that’s deep black on the outside and bright blue on the inside. To add welcome contrast, the watch has white hour and minute hands, white Arabic numerals denoting 6 and 12 o’clock, and a small white date display at 6 o’clock. Above the date window are the words “Mondaine Helvetica Swiss Made,” also done in white. Each watch comes with some vintage extras to set the scene, too.
