This is a bit pricey for one of these korean monitors when you can pick up a X-Star DP2710 off ebay for $300 USD w/ free shipping worldwide. I saw an acer 1440p monitor on sale last week for $400 w/ free s/h.
atdcGet a Dell. The Monoprice monitors do NOT have a pixel perfect policy (Massdrop's advertising here is completely outdated or a boldfaced lie), and the Xstars don't either (they only cover monitors with 3+ white pixels - "pixel perfect?" Nah).
Xveganrox"Monoprice is guaranteeing these monitors will have 0 dead, stuck, or defective pixels. If your monitor has any of those problems, contact Massdrop support and it’ll be taken care of immediately."
this seems pretty explicitly defined. if these conditions aren't met, will or will not massdrop correct the issue? people here are saying they've had issues with getting support in the case of one or a few dead or stuck pixels. what is massdrop's current guarantee on the product?
XveganroxWhen I had a pixel out in the first massdrop of this monitor, I luckily had backlight bleed as well which monoprice allowed a return for. Monoprice customer service said in an email to me "Unfortunately Massdrop advertised unit as pixel perfect but unfortunately it is not. We would be able to send new replacement for the bleed if you would like to try a new one. " I posted here with that info and Will from massdrop said to let him know if monoprice didn't handle it correctly making me think he has a contact at monoprice that would handle pixel issues. It makes me think that massdrop thinks they have a special deal with monoprice that monitors sold through them have a special warranty, but at least some customer service people at monoprice do not think that.
