I was asking about HDCP because if they didn't want to pay the licensing fee for HDMI, maybe they didn't want to pay the licencing fee for HDCP either. I don't want to assume anything about this monitor even if almost all monitors have HDCP. I'd like to hear an answer from Will at Massdrop. And the monitor is 1440p, not 1600p.

ChrisChris, I see where you're coming from, but the reply was a bit snippy... A quick search turns up that this monitor IS INDEED HDCP-compliant, and this is coming from owners on SlickDeals, etc. If you really need to know the answer, the correct way to find out is not to ask Will @ Massdrop -- you need to contact Monoprice directly. However, I went and did the work for you and contacted them today... I will post the transcript above this post.

ChrisMonoprice transcript: TS - Khalid S: Hi Sean! Thank you for contacting Monoprice. TS - Khalid S: My name is Khalid S. One moment please while I review your question. How are you doing today Sean? Sean: Great, thanks for asking! Sean: Just curious if the 27" IPS displays are HDCP-compliant. Sean: I see several reports that they, indeed, are. But I'd like to check directly. TS - Khalid S: Yes they are all HDCP compliant. Sean: Excellent, thank you for checking on that for me. There's your answer, Chris...
