SeanCThat doesn't work for a number of reasons, you should've done more research. http://superuser.com/questions/536288/usb-3-0-video-card-supporting-dual-link-dvi-2560x1440

BrishenThank you, I wasn't aware of the limitations with an active DP->DVI adapter, I thought those were limited to the passives, but it appears as though I was wrong. Removed the incorrect post.

SeanCA dual-link DVI to HDMI converter will be active (if they ever make one). Due to the architecture differences, you need to multiplex the 2 DVI links into a single one at twice the frequency, so that requires a powered chip. There's a whole ton of fun issues with transcoding video, bringing DP into just becomes frustrating. Here's why I hate HDMI/DVI: http://www.audioholics.com/education/cables/whats-the-matter-with-hdmi
