It still sounds like there have been relatively few, if any, difficulties with any of the display units. My unit has been sitting on my desk for almost a year and has served me well through work and play, though mostly in play.
With regards to the warranty service, I am fairly sure that Massdrop reached a separate agreement with Monoprice for the drop; I would not be surprised if the customer service reps do not have access to that info.
