I'm glad this monitor dropped. I'm in.
I think people are comparing this to high quality 27" 2560x1440 monitors like the Dells at $550-$800, or even the Apple Cinema at $1000. I was originally in the market for a cheap 1920x1080 monitor around $250-$300 for a second workstation, and I think this little 2560x1440 beauty will do just fine, for a few more dollars. I'm not expecting perfection, I accept that it might have a few dead pixels or a little ghosting, but I'm expecting it to look so much better than any 27" 1920x1080 that I'd choose otherwise.
I'll comment once I get it and use it for a little while.
