This seems like a strange setup. I used to play the game when it first came out, and don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic game. I am very tempted to jump back into it, but this setup does not seem like it would give you a full 'team' to play with. I think you'd need multiple purchases of this bundle to be able to play a full game, just like any other collectible game.

MikeM75This is the exact same worry I had. I would be new to the game and from everything I was looking at, this bundle looks like you need at least 2 or more bundles to have a playable 2 player game. Does this sound right?

LitreofFarvaI don't think that would even work, to be honest. Only marginal improvement over buying 1 bundle. Here's the problem - you need 1 monster and 15 units for each side, all from the same faction. For a full 2 player game, it would be 2 monsters and 30 units. Each booster pack only includes 4 units, from 6 different factions. I also seem to remember the factions changed, but I don't recall if they were different every series. Best case you end up with 3 monsters and 12 units from 6 different factions.
If you really want to play the game, the cheap method is finding the 2 player start kit: http://www.monsterpocalypse.com/products/monsterpocalypse-two-player-battle-box
Failing that, try getting 2x monster boosters and a 2x cases of unit boosters from the same series. This is your best chance of getting two full teams. It's been a while, but I remember buying cases of the unit boosters when I was really into the game. You'd be stuck with whatever faction your monsters are, but at least you'd have full teams...

MikeM75You don't really need the full 15 units per player. Most of the time you'll only ever use about 6 units per game, and those don't have to be from the same faction. Any unit can be paired with any monster, though there is a benefit if they are the same agenda (not necessarily faction).
There are two factions per agenda, and if you try to spawn a unit from an agenda that's different than your monster you have to spend one extra die, so there is a downside. If your collection of units isn't deep enough you and your partner can just ignore this rule and draft units at the beginning of the game.
