Styled to Embody the Mountaineering Spirit

Inspired by Montblanc’s own Minerva line of watches, which gained popularity in the 1920s and ‘30s, the 1858 expresses the spirit of mountain exploration. Sporting a deep black dial with a golden bezel and golden Arabic numerals, the 1858 has an aged, almost rustic look. The hands are done in classic Montblanc style, with luminous coating for visibility in dark conditions. Adding to the old-school look is the fabric strap, which is extremely comfy and lightweight. The caseback on the 1858 is another allusion to exploration. Engraved with the signature Montblanc mountain, a compass, and two crossed ice pickaxes, it’s a testament to the detailed construction of the watch itself. Rounding out this timepiece are a Swiss-made MB 24.15 movement and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.

Not necessarily... However for me this one doesn't provide enough value for the pricing. I've bought here a Montblanc Chronograph ⌚ (twinfly, way more expensive than this one) and several old Starwalker 🖊️ all of those with a "good" pricing actually (obviously expensive, but I get some value in return) But this one... A Sellita SW200 for $1,450.00 + taxes... No way 👎🏾👎🏾 And the MSRP is indeed correct, if you go to a Montblanc boutique you'll pay MSRP 😨 It's pretty clear for me why is this ⌚ dropping: not enough value, not even @ this price point we're being offered. We've got Glycine with this very same movement for less than $400.00 and even some of those with bronze case as well. Much better value indeed. Glycine with SW200: https://drop.com/buy/glycine-double-twelve-watch Glycine with bronze case: https://drop.com/buy/glycine-combat-sub-bronze-automatic-watch For me, these Montblanc ⌚ are vastly overpriced for what they are. Maybe, because of the brand, but likely regretting, @ $900.00ish 😪 And I know Montblanc can do much much better 😊... They own Minerva, they can create in house movements, they've even created Tourbillons, Perpetual 📆 and many interesting in house complications. For a much higher price, obviously. And I'm willing to pay a higher price for a ⌚ that provides me with value. Sadly it isn't happening here. Here's my review of the twinfly ⌚ BTW: https://drop.com/buy/montblanc-timewalker-twinfly-automatic-watch/reviews/2352604?utm_source=linkshare&referer=9958VR
