A Powerful Tribute to Prayer

Based in the Italian town of Bassano del Grappa since 1912, Montegrappa makes beautiful pens that inspire the writer to write. From the company’s Fortuna Credo series, the Schema pays tribute to the power of prayer. The steel barrel is engraved with a palm branch, a classic symbol of peace, and the Shema Yisrael prayer in Hebrew. This prayer proclaims the essence of Judaism—the unity of God and the union of the Jewish people with God—and translates to “Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one.” On the cap, you’ll find the Star of David accented with three crystal insets, and on the grip is a pattern of interlaced Stars of David and the Hebrew word for “life.”

Note: At checkout, choose the black fountain pen with a medium or broad nib, or the silver fountain pen with a fine or broad nib. You can also add a matching rollerball in black or silver (+ $175).

Optional Matching Rollerball (+$175)
