Was anyone else's order cancelled?

Greg198Yep. They tried telling me it’s because the order didn’t reach the minimum buy, which isn’t true because I know more than 15 were sold (the number they gave me as a minimum when I asked) and there was still time left to join when it changed to “sold thru.” I’m officially done with Drop after this.

AMarkAboveThanks it seemed strange I didn't even get an email that it was cancelled.

Greg198I didn’t received an e-mail indicating it was cancelled; however, it appears as cancelled on my Drop account.  The payment still appears as pending on my PayPal account.   I wrote to customer service to try to clarify if it was indeed cancelled, but the answer was a generic one and even mentioned an older (successful) transaction for a different Montegrappa pen as if it were for this pen (it was indicated that both transactions, the old for a Fortuna and this one, were for this drop).   I’ve got two Montegrappa pens with steel nibs from Drop (Fortuna Barcelona in B and Piacere neon carrot in M) at good prices and they wrote flawlessly out of the box; so I was really looking forward to this elegant one with a gold nib.

AMarkAboveDefinitely seems like some BS. I was going to pull the trigger on this one too.

Greg198I just got an email from Drop saying that there was still 1 more day left to order, but it's "sold through"? It was marked "sold through" by the 2nd day of the drop though, so I'm totally confused. Can we order this thing or not? EDIT: I asked Drop support, and I got some BS message about how the drop wasn't successful because they needed 15 people for the drop. That still doesn't explain why: (1) I received an email reminding me to join the drop before it ends tomorrow; or (2) why the drop was already in "sold through" status by the 2nd day of the drop on Feb. 25.

zayliaI was checking this drop frequently. When I put my order, they had 17 already joined. Last time I checked, they had 42. Hence, that minimum quota was far met. I don’t think the person answering customer service is actually checking all the facts; it looks more like transcribing a script. In my answer there was no allusion to cancelling the drop. I still have this drop’s pending charge on PayPal. If the drop was cancelled, shouldn’t they have immediately notify the customers by e-mail and cancelled the pending charges as well? In the help pages they point out the supplier not meeting quality standards as a possible reason to a cancellation... I also thought about several possible mistakes such as passing the outstanding orders to cancelled by error, or mislabeling the drop as “sold through” instead of “cancelled”. The only official notification I got was confirming the order. At this point I just want to know if they will process the drop by March 22 (I think that was the availability date) or if I can dispose of the money I separated for this drop.

Greg198Yep, mine was cancelled too. Same explanation 'didnt reach minimums' even though I know I saw the site showed that there were 40 some others who joined the drop.

JohnK3I'm thinking they accidentally listed the gold nib version for the steel nib price and then instead of owning up to their mistake they just cancelled the Drop and are trying to hide it. Pretty shitty if you ask me.
