Product Description
Machined by hand from solid brass, the Monteverde Tool Pen isn’t your average fountain pen. On one end, there’s a medium stainless steel nib for putting your thoughts to paper, and on the other end, there’s a touch-screen stylus for those times you swap your notebook for a tablet or smartphone Read More
My pen was delivered today. It looks nice, and I really like the stylus tip. Unfortunately, the nib isn't properly seated on the feeder. Because of this, the pen doesn't write consistently. I'd guess this is something I can fix myself, or else take somewhere to get fixed, but I'd expect it to be properly seated out of the box. I'll be reaching out to Massdrop about how to rectify this situation (and, hopefully, to receive a replacement or a refund).
jgubermanSame here. The nib does not flow well at all and my whole nib and feeder assembly is a little loose—if I tighten the cap with minimal pressure, the housing rotates within the rest of the pen.
I see that the nib says it is iridium, but the description says it is stainless steel. Is the nib shown different, or is it an iridium coating over stainless steel?
bttewjust got mine in this morning. To reply to my own question, the tip of the nip is iridium and the rest in stainless steel. The pan feels very solid and looks great. The bit for the screwdrivers was a bit oose when it first arrived but only needed to be pushed in to lock into place. Pen writes fantastic and smooth.
