DeathWatchI can tell you about the pen, not the drop.
I bought the Engage at Goulet for about $88 (no ink). It's very attractive (real carbon fiber spun at Monteverde), heavy, and pretty long. I'm using fast dry inks with the ink converter (I write on Tomoe River paper), and it works just like a ballpoint. Sometimes I prime the ink converter, but I do that with fountain pens, and that's probably a personal preference.
The only thing I'm not totally in love with is that the tip doesn't emerge from the pen as far as other ballpoints do (probably a function to keep the ink wet), and results in a bit of a 'snub nose' writing experience. It's not as bad as I'm making it sound, but it's there. You get used to it, and the convenience of a ball point with the flexibility of fountain pen ink is well worth it.
It's my third favorite pen, and that's high praise coming from a fountain pen person.
