Monteverde Jewelria Carbon Fiber Fountain Pen

I like the look of this pen, but it's not very sturdy. Within two weeks of having this pen, my oaf of a best friend pulled the cap off of this like a normal pen and completely destroyed the plastic screw-on pieces. It is now a slip-on cap... I might save your money and invest in something sturdier.

I've had this pen for a while now but not written much with it until recently. I have mixed reactions: I like the look of the pen and how it feels in my hand, but I'm not impressed with how it writes, at least with the included Monteverde cartridges. I had a great deal of trouble getting it to start writing at first, and had to flush water through the nib several times using the converter before I could get ink to flow. Once I got it working, I find that the ink flow can't easily keep up with my writing, no matter how quickly or slowly I write. I also find the Fine nib a bit scratchy on Moleskine paper, and the lines much thinner than my fine point pens from Pelikan, MontBlanc, LAMY, or Parker. I'm considering seeking warranty service to see if anything can be done to address the issues I'm having, though I'm going to give it a little more time to see if it gets any better with further use. All things considered, I probably wouldn't buy another Monteverde pen (especially given the markedly mixed reviews I'm seeing here).

Got my pen a week ago, nice pen, writes like shit lol. Why is every "expensive" pen I get on here, write worse then my 7$ Metropolitan Pilot? It's scratchy, it sometimes stops writing, just ugh. Also is it possible to replace the NIB with a fine one? EDIT: I see that was already answered on previous page, I'll look into gouletpens.
