I'm not an audiophile, so I can only say what I like. But I LOVE these. My primary travel rig (DAP) Opus #1s , balanced out to iFi xCAN, Balanced cable from "Better Audio" https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GNF3KWK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and these Kanas Pros bought direct from Linsoul. The alternate travel rig is my iBasso DX90 into iFi iDSD Micro(original) with the Kanas Pro's stock cable. Only thing that I can say is that the Kanas stock ear tips MUST go. (I swapped the ones that were on them for the large ones in the pouch, and they are "better".) I plan on replacing the stock tips with JVC spiral dots in hopes of better seals ASAP. But even as-is, these are making my Etymotic ER4XRs nervous... For fun, I am happy with my BGVP DMGs or even One More Quad drivers, but for a mix of RELATIVE neutrality, great detail, good separation and soundstage, these are satisfying my sweet tooth. I think if I want to dissect something, I'll still fall back to the ER4XRs, but to just want to "hear it all and enjoy", these fit the bill for me. When Massdrop ships my Tin Audio T3s, I don't expect that they will beat these.
FenrizHard to answer.... ER4XR treble is "flatter". The Kanas Pro is a little more pronounced, but neither is "harsh". But the Kanas Pro has more bass for sure.
ryaneagonOkay, I know I'm just geeking-out, but it just so wild that these K.P.s with the right tips can not only let you feel the pluck of the bass, but also detail the wire hits of each of the wire brushes on the drums instead of just rendering a "hiss"!
True, I'm "cheating" by upgrading to balanced cabling and aftermarket tips, but my BGVP DMGs were upgraded too, and still don't provide the same detail. (Though still have plenty of bass!)
The DMGs actually CAN get shrill, though they still don't resolve as much as the K.P.s do. It's so cool to be so excited by audio tracks that I've listened to hundreds of times before.
jsmiller58Hi! Medium & Large SpinFit CP145s and New Bee foams. The New Bee foams are my favorite. Less "tetchy" about placement for good seals and a slightly fuller sound overall. Not a huge difference, but enough that I would reach for them each time, and the SpinFits will be last resorts if I somehow run out of all the others before replacements arrive.
