Amazon just delivered! I didn't know what size would work best, so I picked up set of New Bee S/M/L foam tips, SpinFit CP-145 Medium, and CP-145 Large tips. (So I should be set for a while.) :-) I started with the New Bee Large Foams. OMG!!!! SO much better than the stock tips. Don't even sound like the same iems. I loved them before, but now the sound field is just so much "fuller". Bass definitely filled-out, but I'm more surprised that the the mids and highs seem to be more in-line with each other as well. While I wouldn't say "sibilant", Queen was a little on the high side of my treble tolerance with the stock tips. Now I personally HATE the sound of Grados, (I auditioned up to the GS100e trying to see if I just needed to upgrade from my SR80s.) so I figured I'm just treble intolerant and that the Kanas Pros were just a bit more like Grados than I'd wish, but not too much. But nope. Freddy is clear, front and center, and the bass has KICKED-up to almost sounding like my BGVP DMGs, but instead of hearing"more" bass like the DMGs, I'd say the Kanas Pro instead "rumble", passing on a kinetic bass sensation that they definitely didn't with the stock tips. I know that I should swap-in the SpinFits, but I don't want to stop listening to all my different reference tracks... "The Show Must Go On", "We Will Rock You", "Who Wants To Live Forever" all sound like I've gone to church, and Freddy is filling the cathedral with his voice. It's actually quite moving. I can't imagine the SpinFits improving on this, but in the next day or so I'm sure that my curiosity will finally get better of me. In the meantime, I have a second date with with all my favorite groups; R.J. Dio, Kansas, Robert Cray, Metallica, Bob Seger, Meatloaf, Pink Floyd, Planet P, Peter Schilling, Journey, Triumph, Yes, Coltrane, Jeff Healey, Clapton, etc... So much to listen to again, and so little time. Holy crap, Holst's "Mars, The Bringer Of War". Nice! I think I feel it in my bones. (In addition to my ears' and skull's bones.) I don't regret a thing about buying the Kanas Pros. (But for the love of Pete, replace those stock tips!) The Tin Audio T3s will have to sound like epic arcane relics to beat these when they finally arrive, I think.

At $100 cheaper, why would you expect T3's to compete with the Kanas Pro? Those are budget IEMs

I don't, but it wouldn't be the first time that that an offering outperforms a higher-tier product by punching well-above its weight class. Those rarities are a hopeful element that keeps the hobby fun for me. Consider the Koss Porta-Pros. While I wouldn't put them against HD800s, I can say that I prefer their sound to other headphones that come in well above twice their cost. While not likely, nothing says that it isn't possible, and that's half the fun, right? :-)

And I prefer the Koss KSC75x for half the price. Those are my mobile faves so far.
