By chance, anyone have some listening time with the KXXS? I believe it’s been around now for a while, but I have not seen too many comments. With the current shipping delay from last drop, I could’ve bought KPE direct from china at about same cost with shorter ship time. Still might. EDIT: I noticed most KXXS ship dates are around 5/30, so maybe not as around as I had thought, but still curious since it'll be readily available quite shortly.

The KXXS was just released recently and I got a single digit unit this mid May. KXXS vs Kanas Pro KXXS has fuller vocals and sounds more polite than the Kanas Pro. One major complaint I had with Kanas Pro, as I mentioned on Head-Fi, was the thin sounding female vocals. I think the KXXS fixed this issue by fine tuning the harmonic frequencies in the higher frequency range because the vocal placement seems to be similar but female vocals sounds fuller. There is also more air and sparkle on the KXXS due to this change in tuning. However with the change in higher frequency also means that I tend to lower volume slightly when A/Bing the KXXS from the Kanas Pro and that made the bass feel more polite. Overall the KXXS and Kanas Pro resolution is very good, comparable to the Sennheiser IE 40 Pro, but is not it's strongest suit. Is the KXXS an upgrade over the Kanas Pro? Yes. Should I go for the KXXS rather than the Kanas Pro? Not necessarily - I'm still keeping my Kanas Pro for a more fun sounding signature.
