Why won't this ship to Australia?

PhilbotIt's weird because there'd be no issue at all sending these to Australia. There's no law against owning them or importing them here. Switchblades, butterflies knives, double-edged daggers & long swords require a collector's permit (& the liability would still fall on the purchaser) - but certainly not for anything as utilitarian as this! It just means a smaller drop and less bargaining power.
Maybe it's because this knife is considered too close to a tactical blade (there is a molle-compatible model similar to this) - but even then, it'd still be legal and Australia is probably the US's closest military ally. They'll sell us F35's, but not a pointy stick. ;-)
A lot of Aussies either live in the bush or like camping, bushwalking etc and there's also those in the services who'd appreciate being able to buy a decent, reliable blade at a fair price. Shame Massdrop.

dlmetcalfCmon now .....Maybe in the people's republic of Victoria ........ But lots of other States let you possess double edge blades and swords. It's more like DHL doesn't want to transport knives. Dunno why Massdrop doesn't just use the old carrier.

AntibacterialThe Morakniv would be legal to own in every state. though. But true, it's not the same for every state (pretty sure those laws are the case in NSW, WA & I'm guessing Vic - not sure about elsewhere). Yeah, probably something more like carrier issues. Amazon often won't ship either. Then again, neither will they ship most electronics, so that doesn't say much.
