This is a killer deal on a knife folks rave about, but I'm confused about the sheath. Knife is currently $84.94 & FREE shipping at Amazon with the leather sheath, and $89.97 with the MOLLE multi system sheath. Massdrop says this knife comes with a "plastic multi mount sheath" which I hope doesn't mean one of the cheaper, hard plastic, clip-two-together sheaths the less expensive Moras come with. The photos show the MOLLE multi mount sheath in the photo which would make this a great deal. If this drops to $59.99 it would be an amazing deal at almost $30 less than Amazon. If you prefer the more traditional look of the leather sheath an extra $3.50 ain't much.
For those wondering what kind of stainless steel, this appears to be the 14C28N Sandvik clip point, scandi grind, stainless steel blade with a Rockwell hardness of 56-58 HRC . Many consider this the best knife Mora makes for bushcraft and general use. I've heard the same knife will be offered in a carbon steel blade soon, so you might want to wait if you like carbon steel better than stainless. The MOLLE multi mount system (again, assuming that's what this comes with) can be mounted vertically or horizontally, and I believe you can put the knife in either way for right or left hand draw.
I don't even need one, but might jump on this deal just to have my first Mora and see what all the buzz is about. Folks who have Mora knives generally love them and even their cheapest knives are considered tough workhorses.

rshveydaAs far as I know, the Garberg has never come with their baseline plastic sheath. I wouldn't knock it - its functional, secure, easy to clean, and easy to clip on/off your belt. I actually prefer this sheath to any other that I've used.
If you're curious about Mora's, $15 or less will scratch that itch. Sandvik 12C27 Stainless: https://www.amazon.com/Morakniv-Craftline-Allround-Stainless-Combi-Sheath/dp/B00T3DY8XK/

bookworm13That's good news. It's the MOLLE sheath I want and if the price drops to $59.99 + shipping it's a heck of a good deal. Thanks for the info.
I collect mostly >$40 knives that are a good bang for the buck, and feel that all knives should be judged based on quality vs. price. I don't like garbage, but like finding the inexpensive diamond in the rough. Some of my recent favorite budget purchases:
Ontario Rat I @ $24 Browning 0166 & 0165 @ $11 ea CTSmart YH-11 D2 @ $9.99 (yeah, we'll see if it's really D2 steel) LAPG TBFK S35VN @ $29.75 (but I'm starting to think the only pro is the quality of the steel)
So, one of the top of the line Mora knives for almost $30 less than the Amazon price should scratch that itch.

rshveydaI see you already have the Rat I, but if you ever need to replace it or want a slightly smaller blade, you might want to check out the Ka-Bar Dozier Precision Hunter ~$20 (https://smile.amazon.com/Ka-Bar-KA4065-BRK-Dozier-Precision-Hunter/dp/B0013AUDFS).
Same AUS-8 as the Rat, but with a Spyderco-like thumb hole and made in Taiwan.

bookworm13I looked at that exact knife on Amazon recently, and I read the single 2-star review complaining about delayed shipping and the box falling apart. I also read (and agreed with) the subsequent comment asking he review the knife, not the box, and downgrade the seller instead. I wonder who the bookworm that wrote the second comment could have been?
Nice knife for the money, and a thumb hole is nice because it doesn't scratch your hand when you reach in your pocket like thumb studs can.
