Based in the picturesque Italian town of Bassano del Grappa, Montegrappa has been making beautiful, functional pens since 1912—pens that inspire the writer to write. Among them is the Ducale, an homage to the Doge’s Palace (or Palazzo Ducale) Read More
Beautiful pen, smooth nib (I ordered a fine) and a threaded converted. I love the color (viola). A couple of false starts but since i've been using KWZ ink it, it seems to be working beautifully. I don't post the cap when I write with it as it is a bit heavy for me; but uncapped, its perfect.
I gave it only four stars because the clip became loose after a month of using it and eventually I had to unscrew the top off and remove it. Not a huge issue as it doesn't make a difference to the writing quality but I did expect better of Montegrappa.
Inner package was opened before and it was destroyed. Pen itself has signs of being used before. Overall quality is average. Pen writes exceptionally well. Nib is awesome.
I am a fan of Montegrappas. I chose the Viola one with a broad nib and it's gorgeous! Although I do like the way Montegrappas write out of the box, I have had a custom architect grind put on this one and it is a joy to write with.
