"[A] motorcycle boot that towed the line between fashion and function". At the risk of being "that guy", you mean "toed the line" (put its toe on the line), rather than "towed the line" (pulled it along behind something else).
HMK1HAHA..touche on the play on words. Its funny you said that, our original intention was to avoid being "that guy" at the coffee shop or office with track boots on or massive mad max boots.

It's not a play on words, actually, even if it sounds like that. "To toe the line" is the correct phrase, not "To tow the line."
However, even the correct version is not appropriate in this case, since it actually means to follow/obey rules, and there are no rules "between fashion and function."
What you are looking for is perhaps something more like "bridges the divide between fashion and function."
