Lightweight and easy to set up. Beats toting a large canopy back into camping areas by a long shot. Durable and much better on windy days with great staking options.
It is very light and compact when folded. Setup is easy and it is sturdy. The only problem is the manufacturer's quality control. I have received my without small part attached to the corner(missing one loop for stake).
The other reviews are all spot on, save for one piece. Ive had zero luck finding more walls for it. They are always out of stock, and I've been looking for a little over a year.
If anyone finds some, please let me know!
I am not a seasoned tent user, so that may explain my experience, but this tent was difficult for me to setup. The video on Massdrop's page oversimplifies the setup and the instructions on the tent bag are plain garbage. Took me 15 minutes the first time, and over 30 minutes the second time due to the presence of gusty winds. I admit I need more experience, but I still docked a star for having crappy instructions. It's light and packs down well.
I was pleasantly surprised with this product, and this was the best price I found. This comes with a single shade panel, but more are available directly from Mountainsmith. This comes with extra guy lines, to stabilize it in the wind, and a total of 8 stakes, (4 for the corners, and 4 for the additional guy lines). It is far lighter and more compact than some other options, (like an easy-up), and is simple enough to set up for a single person, (although you will want to watch the YouTube video first). Staked out, using the additional guy lines, this stood up well to 20mph wind and it was easy to move the panel to follow the sun. If you want something bombproof, look eslewhere, but this is hard to beat for the price, compact size, and convenience of being able to keep it in the car.
