gamaI use the strappettes because I tend to max out its load. Like a summertime three day backpacking trip using only this pack. Or packing out 15lbs of flint in addition to all of my gear for a sun up to sun down hike. The strappettes are a good place to attach my compass and camera as well.

gamaYepper, best fanny pack I've ever used for hiking, and I've used a bunch. Yes, puts the weight on your hips so your back and shoulders aren't sore at the end of the day. Much less effort carrying on your hips. The huge, comfy padded hip belt is awesome but the delta straps are what really sets this pack apart. Adjust them and the pack hugs your body like it is a part of you. Amazing!!

DuxDawgIf you have a good 14L pack and you have problems with a sore back then you aren't wearing it right, you shouldn't be putting load on your shoulders, even on much larger packs it should all be on your hips. Shoulder straps are there to secure the load in the right carrying position, not to carry the load itself,
